The program works with DCF special needs children aged 3-17 and matches them with foster parents. The program is responsible for recruitment, selection, training of the foster parents and payments to foster parents. Foster parents receive supportive services, home-based therapy and linkage to long-term counseling. Foster parents participate in parent training and support groups. The project focuses on the placement of youth with emotional and or behavioral problems and is a licensed as a child placement agency.
