Square Gateway is a 12 unit independent living facility in Waterbury and is funded under the Housing and Urban Development Section 811 program for persons with disabilities. There are 10 one-bedroom units and 2 two-bedroom units. The units are for persons who are disabled under the HUD definition or chronically mentally ill under the HUD definition. The occupants are charged no more than 30% of their annual income for their rental and the rent for the units will be based on Fair Market Rents as defined by HUD for the Waterbury area.
