William Tuthill
William Tuthill is the Director of Justice and Residential programs at New Opportunities. His background includes over four decades of senior leadership experience within the field of criminal justice.
At New Opportunities, Bill is responsible for managing justice and residential programs at the agency, including an eighty bed homeless shelter for men, women and children, as well as a forty-eight bed halfway house for men.
Prior to joining New Opportunities in 1994, Bill was a Senior Consultant to the Criminal Justice Institute and held the position of Assistant Deputy Commission for the Connecticut Department of Correction where he worked for over two decades.
Bill has also served as Vice President and Board Member for the Connecticut Association of Nonprofits, on the Executive Committee for Interfaith Cooperative Ministries and a Member and Chair of the Church and Ministry Committee of the New Haven East Consociation of the Connecticut Conference of the United Church of Christ.
Bill holds a Master of Public Affairs from the University of Connecticut, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Syracuse University and has been designated a Certified Circles® Trainer by the Move the Mountain Leadership Center.
