Walk for Warmth
Meriden-area residents who may not qualify for Federal or State heating assistance programs yet need help with heating bills are aided by funds raised through New Opportunities of Greater Meriden’s (NOGM’s) annual Walk for Warmth.
NOGM staff work with community-minded individuals, corporations, social service agencies and churches to sponsor Walkers who log donated dollars-per-mile for Greater Meriden individuals or families who cannot afford the cost of adequate fuel during the cold winter months. One hundred percent of the money raised goes to the needy households.
The event is held in March.
