Office Assistant at the Children's Community School

New Opportunities RSVP program is seeking to place volunteers at the Children's Community School in Waterbury, Connecticut.  The Children's Community School exists first and foremost to offer educational services to children from economically, socially and/or envirmonmentally disadvantaged homes who are in need of extra support to be able to attend to the tasks involved in learning. Children's Community School provides and environment of suipport and supportive services for those children and their families.

Volunteers will assist with clerical duties in the office, help the children in the library and assist with reading assignments when the students visit the library, work in individual classrooms to help the teachers.

Skills necessary include:

• clerical, creative, good with children
• Writing/editing and teaching/tutoring skills 
• High School Graduate or GED helpful
• Fluent in English or Spanish
