General Office Support at Connecticut Food Bank
New Opportunities RSVP program is seeking to place volunteers at the Connecticut Food Bank in Waterbury, Connecticut providing general office support.
Connecticut Food Bank (CFB) is a private, non-profit organization that collects, transports, warehouses, and distributes donated food to service agencies throughout Connecticut. The mission of Connecticut Food Bank is to alleviate hunger by supplying food products and resources and to promote public awareness about the problem of hunger.
Volunteers will sort non-perishable food items and box them for distribution to hungry people. Volunteers may also assist with clerical duties, or help clients with food choices in a "store like" atmosphere. Various choices of locations throughout the greater Waterbury area.
Skills necessary include:
- Stocking, sorting and distributing food
- General office/clerical skills
- Fluency in English and/or Spanish
Must be at least 55 years of age.
