Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)

New Opportunities offers free income tax preparation services to income-eligible families and individuals at three different locations for taxpayers’ greater convenience. Tax forms 1040 EZ and 1040A are electronically filed at the tax preparation site. Other tax forms are not handled, and thus, the service does not apply to homeowners or small business owners.

Income Tax Assistance is available to any qualified household with an annual income of $49,000 or less. Taxpayers with bank accounts may have any tax refunds due directly deposited to their accounts.

Volunteer as a Tax Preparer or Greeter

VITA is seeking volunters to act as Tax Preparers and Greeters during tax season.  Volunteer tax preparers are trained by the IRS for the purpose of this tax assistance.
