Senior Nutrition Hotline

Senior Nutrition HotlineNew Opportunities Inc's Senior Nutrition Services hosts a Nutrition Hotline every Thursday from 1 to 3 p.m. (EST) during which those 60 or older may call and have all their nutrition questions answered by a registered dietitian.

Caregivers such as nurses, home health aides and family members who provide support for the elderly or disabled are also welcome to call with concerns. Callers need not be participants in New Opportunities’ Meals On Wheels or Senior Community Café to utilize this service.

The dietitian is well-qualified to answer questions such as:

  • I have to follow a low salt diet. What should I eat?
  • How long can I keep meat frozen in my freezer?
  • What do you put into your meatloaf at Meals On Wheels?

For more information call Senior Nutrition Services at (203) 575-4278 or email Nutrition [at] NewOpportunitiesInc [dot] org.
