Free tax preparation program set to kickoff on January 28th

New Opportunities' Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program is set to kickoff on Saturday, January 28th and run through April 4th at New Opportunities' Waterbury and Meriden locations.

The VITA program provides free tax preparation and electronic filing (e-filing) services to households with incomes of $49,000 or less. Services are limited to preparing Form 1040EZ and 1040-A. Tax preparation services are by appointment only.

Waterbury

Tax preparation services will be available at New Opportunities office, located at 232 North Elm Street in Waterbury, at the following times: Monday from 5pm to 9pm; Wednesday from 5pm to 8pm; Saturday from 9am to 1pm.

Meriden

Tax preparation services will be available at New Opportunities office, located at 74 Cambridge Street in Meriden, at the following times: Tuesday from 5pm to 8pm; Saturday from 9am to 1pm.
