Meals On Wheels selected as recipient of Stop and Shop's Food for Friends campaign
The Stop and Shop located on Reidville Drive in Waterbury has selected New Opportunities' Meals On Wheels program as the beneficiary of their annual Food for Friends campaign. All of the proceeds of the campaign will be used to purchase meals for seniors living in the Greater Waterbury or Greater Danbury area.
To participate, customers visiting the Stop and Shop can purchase a paper turkey at checkout until December 8th. The paper turkey's can be purchased in denominations of $1, $3 or $5. The 2010 campaign raised nearly $5,000. for Meals On Wheels.
