Michael Riso

Michael Riso is the Chief Financial Officer at New Opportunities. His background includes over thirty-five years of experience in finance, with over twenty-five years of direct experience in senior leadership positions.

At New Opportunities, Mike is responsible for managing an annual budget of over $50 million dollars. Additionally, he is instrumental in leading the agency's economic and community development activities within the region.

Prior to joining New Opportunities in 2003, Mike held management positions as the Chief Financial Officer for Wahlstrom Group and Amhealth Group, respectively. He also held a position as Finance Director at Yale New Haven Health Systems.

Mike holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Sacred Heart University has earned the designation of Certified Public Accountant (CPA). He was recognized by Biltmore's Who's Who in 2010 and was Hartford Business Journal's Chief Financial Officer of the Year in 2008.
