Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP)

The purpose of the Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP) is to give homelessness prevention assistance to households who would otherwise become homeless and to quickly re-house those already without a home. Whether applicants are suffering from the effects of the current economic crisis or from other long-term or chronic problems, their needs will be addressed.

Clients of HPRP, both individuals and families, will be re-housed in a more stable location, one in which they no longer have to worry about being without a place to live. Thus services to clients include security deposits, rental assistance, utility deposits, utility assistance and hotel or motel vouchers for relocation.

HPRP also provides case management, coordinates services and conducts outreach and engagement to let more people know about this supportive program. They also guide the housing search and placement activities, offer legal services related to housing and assist with credit counseling.
