Francine Nido

Francine Nido is the Executive Assistant to the President & CEO at New Opportunities. Her background includes over a decade of experience in administrative support, fundraising and community service.

Francine began her career at New Opportunities while volunteering with the Meals On Wheels program and was hired within the Energy Services Division and later the Research, Development and Planning department. Since that time, she has progressed into a greater role at the agency with accountability for overseeing the executive offices, support team and coordinating agency events.

Within the Waterbury community, Francine serves on the Steering Committee of Leadership Greater Waterbury, and is Fellowship Coordinator, Social Action Chair and Lector for The Shrine of St. Anne. She also volunteers for Main Street Waterbury, the Waterbury Republican Town Committee, East End Community Club, Waterbury Neighborhood Council and WARC.

Francine is actively involved in UNICO - the largest Italian American service organization in the country. She was elected National Secretary in 2011 having previously served as Connecticut District Governor of UNICO National and Past President of the Waterbury Chapter. She also currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Waterbury Chapter of UNICO and chairs a number of fundraisers and committees. Francine has also been honored by UNICO for her contributions and leadership in the Italian community and was named "Miss UNICO" at the 2006 UNICO National Convention.

Francine is a 2008 Alumni of the Waterbury Chamber of Commerce's Leadership Greater Waterbury program. She has also been honored with the prestigious Malcolm Baldrige Volunteer of the Year Award by the Waterbury Regional Chamber of Commerce in 2011.
