The Buy a Wheel fundraiser benefits New Opportunities Meals On Wheels program.Buy a Wheel raises funds for New Opportunities Meals On Wheels program by offering retail shoppers a paper “wheel” for a one dollar contribution at check-out in high-traffic stores such as supermarkets. The store then displays the “wheel” with the donor’s name.

New Opportunities partnered with Thames Valley Council for Community Action to develop Buy a Wheel which has proved to be attractive to both local merchants and shoppers. The campaign is similar to the “balloon” offered by Connecticut Children’s Hospital or the “sneaker” associated with the American Cancer Society.

Buy A Wheel and Mayors Deliver Meals are held in conjunction with Meals on Wheels Association of America's March for Meals national initiative intended to bring awareness to Meals on Wheels programs across the country.
